Changing units converts the entered distance and pace. Pace means minutes and seconds per mile or kilometre.

Total duration
Enter your distance and duration, then calculate.

Three ways to use it

Pace and speed: Enter the distance and total duration of a walk or run. Your result includes minutes per mile, minutes per kilometre, miles per hour, and kilometres per hour.

Finish time: Enter a distance and the pace you plan to maintain. The result assumes you keep that average pace across the entire distance.

Distance: Enter how long you plan to move and your average pace to estimate how far you will travel.

Example: 3 miles in 30 minutes

That is a pace of 10:00 per mile and a speed of 6 mph. The equivalent is approximately 6:13 per kilometre and 9.66 km/h.

The math behind the result

Pace = duration ÷ distance. Speed = distance ÷ duration. Finish time = distance × pace. Distance = duration ÷ pace. One mile equals exactly 1.609344 kilometres. Times round to the nearest second; speed and distance results show two decimal places.

Use the numbers in context

This is an arithmetic planning tool. It does not choose an appropriate exercise intensity or predict how well you will perform. Hills, stops, weather, and changes in pace affect your actual finish time. Use elapsed time if you want breaks included, or moving time if you want only time spent moving. Be consistent when comparing sessions.

Treadmills usually display speed, such as mph or km/h. Check the unit on your machine before entering a speed. The equivalent speed here does not account for incline or treadmill calibration.
